Why We Started
We began with one mission: to help and empower sex workers. We want to provide a platform that supports them, so they can live a dignified life without facing discrimination, stigma, or violence in their profession. Our approach involves speaking up for their rights, building partnerships, and bringing the community together.

Our Vision
"Our vision, as Mahila Shayogi Samuha based in Itahari, is to empower female sex workers and support them in leading dignified lives through education and awareness."
Our Mission
The core mission of Mahila Sahayogi Samuha is to safeguard female sex workers from HIV, STIs, and gender-based violence. Additionally, we strive to diminish stigma and discrimination, offer assistance for livelihood and income-generating endeavors, and empower female sex workers.
Our Goal
- Enhancing the reproductive health of female sex workers.
- Decreasing the occurrence of new HIV and STI transmissions within the female sex worker community.
- Minimizing violence, stigma, and discrimination faced by female sex workers from law enforcement, authorities, family, and society.
Scope Of Work
To fulfill our mission of upholding the dignity and respect of sex workers, our primary objective is to unite them at the community and district levels in Sunsari district, advocating for their rights on appropriate platforms. Our collective voice aims to address the systemic barriers to sex workers' human rights, encompassing social, cultural, religious, and political dimensions.
We actively invite sex workers to join our organization, Mahila Sahayogi Samuha, where we provide a supportive space for sharing both triumphs and challenges. A significant obstacle we confront frequently is the pervasive violence and stigma faced by sex workers and their children. This hostility often originates from ill-informed service providers, including those in health facilities, intimate partners, schools, and individuals in positions of authority within society. Our efforts are directed towards eradicating this violence and discrimination, fostering a society where sex workers can engage in their profession with dignity.
